About Me ~
I began my studies of Chinese Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture in 1996. In 1999 I
graduated from the New England School of Acupuncture with a Masters of Acupuncture degree, became licensed
and opened my practice in Amesbury. I continue to take courses yearly to enhance my knowledge of Oriental
Medicine and other complimentary modalities. Currently I am enrolled in a Zero Balancing certification
program.
Oriental Medicine diagnoses conditions according
to its own unique understanding of the how the body functions. As a practitioner I take into consideration:
lifestyle, stress level, health history, family health history, diet and how well your body is functioning. All
these variables play an integral part in your state of balance and well-being. The Chinese philosopher
Hsu Ta-Ch’un 1757, was quoted as saying “Illnesses may be identical but the person suffering from them are different.
Physicians therefore must carefully take into account the differences among the people...” I have founded my
philosophy of practice on this sage advice. Through my years of treating clients, I have seen many conditions.
Each similar condition has shared the same western medical diagnosis. However not everyone’s
herniated disc, infertility, sleep disorder or even headache is the same. Eastern medicine understands
the importance of looking at the whole person. When I understand the clients’ complete picture I
can diagnose what is causing the symptom. This knowledge will allow me to treat and advise the client to
make adjustments so that the symptom does not return or worsen.
